I love teaching. And I love learning. To me they are the two sides of a single coin.
When I teach a workshop or a class I am teaching questions rather than answers: What happens if .....; How about ......; What do you think ........
My goal is for students to experience strategies for developing their own answers. And great answers require great questions. We can begin anywhere. There is nothing that can't be a starting point. The trick is to dig deep enough to get to the point where connections are created, and then follow the connections on to new and personal territory. My role as teacher is to provide an interesting beinning and then enough support and backup, (and sometimes a gentle shove), to get students far enough along on their personal artistic journey that they have the confidence and curiosity to continue.
I have taught from California to Alabama, the U.K. to U.S.A, toddlers to nonagenarians, beginners to professionals.

3-5 Day Workshop:
Where do ideas come from? How do we move beyond making work that looks like something we’ve already seen? How do we discover our own unique voice? In this workshop you’ll spend time exploring the real roots of inspiration: your own way of seeing and interacting with the worlds within and around you. Through light-hearted but revealing exercises, fast-paced challenges, and collaborative explorations, we’ll begin to define the parameters of our individual voices. Using non-judgmental techniques of group analysis and critique, we’ll share our viewpoints to build a deeper understanding of our choices - and open ourselves up to unimagined alternatives!
